Born in Darfield, Canterbury, Andrew has lived in Christchurch since age 8. He loves helping people lead the best lives possible with peace of mind and contentedness. He is always focussed on constantly developing himself further with good training and developing great systems and processes with a team approach with both his clients and colleagues. By asking good questions in a timely manner, he can help clients gain clarity and confidence.

Andrew has a BSc in Psychology and Economics, is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). He lives in Christchurch with his wife Jo and dog Charlie (an 11-year-old labradoodle). Two of his four adult children live in Christchurch, too. Andrew loves keeping fit and active. You will find him out walking or running, doing Pilates, yoga, going to the gym, cycling, playing cricket and gardening.

Due to her experience, Ashley has a wide range of domestic and international clients. As a strong communicator, she enjoys helping clients navigate and understand complex situations and works together to help them achieve their financial goals.

Ashley has a BCom from the University of Canterbury, majoring in accounting and information systems. She lives in Christchurch with her family.

Dominic specialises in helping business owners, professional services partners, and executives who need to plan for the next phase of life. Prior to joining Cambridge Partners, Dominic worked in commercial strategy and business management, a skillset he utilises when helping his clients to plan for and optimise business exits.

The work Dominic does with his clients often involves planning a business sale, an exit from a partnership, or simply planning what life after work may look like. Typically, this involves forecasting cashflows, developing investment strategies, facilitating family meetings, and helping his clients to consider and plan what they want to achieve with their time and capital.

Dominic was born in Titirangi, Auckland. He moved to Christchurch in 2019, drawn by his love of the South Island’s geography. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Management) and lives in Shirley, Christchurch, with his wife, two children and a dog. He loves getting out and exploring our beautiful country.

Forbes is one of our Associate Advisers at Cambridge Partners. He has extensive experience in wholesale financial markets and draws his expertise from broking firms ICAP and Tradition and OM Financial.

His passion for client work has seen him transition from his role as Investment and Platform Manager to join our Advice Team. Therefore, Forbes has a great understanding of our investment custodians and platforms, investments, trading, and reporting and Cambridge Partners’ investment products. Forbes loves to provide clients with efficient ways to make informed financial decisions.

Forbes has a Master in Applied Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance.

He recently moved to Christchurch with his wife Millie from his hometown of Wellington.

Prior to joining Cambridge Partners, Hannah worked as a lawyer for 10 years, predominantly in commercial litigation. She worked with a range of clients from small businesses to multi-national listed companies and government bodies and enjoyed working with clients on complex legal issues and disputes and working to achieve positive outcomes for them.

Hannah is originally from the UK and moved to New Zealand in 2018. She lives at Waimairi Beach with her fiancée Scott and cat Hamish. They love having the beach and bottle lake forest on their doorstep.

He lives with his wife and kids in Ilam, Christchurch. Johnny is a big sports fan and plays golf as much as possible. If not out on the course, he is chasing his son and daughter around the playground, pool, or beach.

Margot joined the team in 2022 as an Associate Adviser after three years as a Life and Health Insurance Adviser. She became a Financial Adviser through the Cambridge Partners’ learning and career pathway and now serves a wide range of clients. Her combined years of experience have helped clients protect their assets and reach their financial goals. 

Growing up on the family farm in Geraldine, Margot has a real passion for the agricultural industry and understands the complexities they can face. She enjoys helping these clients navigate the transition period of succession planning and enabling confidence for the next phase. 

Margot is a member of Financial Advice New Zealand and has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Sociology), and holds the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services, Insurance and Investment (Level 5).  

Margot lives in Christchurch with her husband and dog, Spud. She loves travelling, the outdoors, hiking, skiing and playing tennis.

Scott’s career in financial markets spans over 19 years. He works with private and institutional clients, including not-for-profit organisations and Trusts.  

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst – a rare and prestigious professional Funds Management designation. Scott has expertise in the review, analysis, and drafting of SIPOs, Investment Policy Statements, portfolio reports, portfolio construction, portfolio performance attribution, and security analysis. He also ensures investment funds are managed consistently with the required rate of return, needs and objectives of the relevant organisation. He is ideally suited to reporting to Boards, Committees, and Trustees.  

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies – Personal Financial Planning.  

Scott lives in Christchurch with his wife and three children and in his free time, he enjoys exercising and keeping fit.

Todd Sutton

Todd has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. He draws his experience from accounting, funds management and superannuation firm roles. Todd learnt first-hand that stock-picking and active management strategies did not always benefit clients. He enjoys explaining what he calls ‘financial peace of mind’.

As Todd grew up on a farm, he empathises with farmers, and business owners, going through succession issues. He works closely with the family, planning for the next generation. If they decide to sell, the transfer of wealth can be overwhelming. With thoughtful planning and collaboration, Todd ensures a smooth transition with his unbiased financial advice.

Todd is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma in Financial Planning.

Anja lives in Christchurch with her husband. She loves to be in the garden and grow her own fruit and vegetables. Anja loves to go trail-riding with her husband and enjoy walks in the forest, mountains, or the Botanical Gardens.

Caroline is our Compliance Manager. She is responsible for ensuring Cambridge Partners complies with industry standards and regulations. Her practical approach provides help and support to the team to ensure clients receive high levels of quality and standards of service. She is also our Health and Safety Manager.

Caroline has a Bachelor of Arts, CII Financial Planning Certificate and CII Mortgage Advice Qualification. She also holds the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Investment) Level 5 and is a FANZ Associate Member.

She lives in Christchurch and enjoys catching up with friends and family, walking, observing art and architecture, and gardening.

Recently, Dan and his fiancé have established roots in Yaldhurst by building their own home.

Paul Munro

Paul Munro is Cambridge Partners’ Independent Chair of the Board. He brings 30 years of financial and commercial experience spanning a range of industries. Over the past ten years, he has held several governance roles as a Director and Chairman.  

For 24 years, Paul worked at Deloitte as a Corporate Finance Partner, primarily working with and supporting corporate Boards. During this time, he spent six years as the CEO of a publicly owned investment company, where he worked closely with the subsidiary Boards and CEOs.  

Current and former governance roles include: MHV Water, Online Distribution, Lynn River, Orion New Zealand, Toitū Envirocare, Central Plains Water, Spanbild Holdings, and Venues Ōtautahi. 

Paul is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants (FCA) and a Chartered Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Directors (CFInstD). 

Paul is married with two kids and enjoys running, mountain biking, golf, tennis, and spending family time in Noosa, Hamner Springs or the Mackenzie Country.

Richard Austin

Richard is the Co-Founder of Cambridge Partners and held the CEO role until June 2023 before transitioning towards retirement.  

He has expert knowledge of investments gained over years working as a Chartered Accountant and Financial Adviser. He provides clients with real-world perspectives and is passionate about putting clients first.  

Richard is a Chartered Accountant and was awarded a Fellowship by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). He holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Finance from Massey University, is an Associate of the Executor and Trustee Institute and holds several governance roles.  

Richard is a born and bred Southlander and lives in Christchurch with his wife Maria. He enjoys sailing, tennis, tramping, reading, and spending time with grandchildren.

Steve Mander

Co-Founder

Steve is a Co-Founder of Cambridge Partners. After years in private practice as a strategic business consultant, Steve formed IQ2 with Richard Austin before merging with Bradley Nuttall to form Cambridge Partners.  

When Steve worked in the business as a Financial Adviser, Steve worked with clients to help them integrate their business and personal financial lives, particularly those with more complex situations. They could be business owners who are contemplating selling their business; trustees looking for support around their risks/obligations as professional trustees, a woman alone going through a relationship property dispute, US citizens dealing with complex cross jurisdictional issues, others requiring NZ Investor Visas, or just ordinary New Zealanders looking for comprehensive financial and investment support.

Steve enjoys time with family and friends doing what he loves – sailing, fishing, skiing, tramping & travel.
