This month Cambridge Partners joined together with several of our key partners to celebrate Richard Austin’s contribution to Cambridge Partners, and his many years of service to the investment, finance, and accounting sectors in New Zealand.
Richard’s career has spanned more than 35 years across the accounting and financial sectors, with Richard holding leadership roles across various government and private entities.
Career highlights include Richard being awarded a Fellowship by Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the profession, including being National President. Richard has also contributed to the governance space of many Boards over the years, helping them to navigate complex financial and regulatory environments. These include both private and not-for-profit organisations.
Richard, together with his business partner Steve Mander, formed iQ2 Private Wealth in 2009 which provided boutique financial advisory and investment management services to clients. In 2017 they merged with Bradley Nuttall to form Cambridge Partners with the vision of creating New Zealand’s largest independent financial advisory firm. Richard has guided the company through the pandemic and other external market influences over the past three years as CEO, and as a result the company has continued to go from strength to strength.
Reflecting on his time at Cambridge Partners, Richard shared the following summary:
“It’s amazing how quickly time goes by, especially when you are involved in things that you thoroughly enjoy. Providing financial advice, assisting people and organisations to reach their goals and providing leadership in the governance space are all areas I enjoy.
Cambridge Partners is a wonderful organisation that has thrived on putting clients first and foremost, doing the right thing and living its corporate values.
The company will continue to grow and develop. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to be a part of laying the foundations.
While I’ll miss the interactions with clients, staff and professional peers, I’m looking forward to the next phase of my journey.”
Whilst Richard will remain connected to the firm as a shareholder and through other activities, we very much wish him the best for his next adventure and sincerely thank him for his contribution to our business.
